Plenty of 48V carts never travel farther than the clubhouse, the mailbox or the far end of the campground road, yet they still carry a full bank of lead-acid batteries that need water and attention. For that kind of cart, the Lithium Rhino LR51V50AH is a 48V 50Ah lithium battery sized to the job. It's the lightest kit in the Lithium Rhino 48V lineup, at 43 pounds, and Lithium Rhino rates it for 20+ miles per charge.
The shape is unusual, and it helps. This battery stands upright, 10.4 inches long, a little over 7 inches wide and about 11.6 inches tall, which is roughly the footprint of one lead-acid golf cart battery. A mounting strap holds it in place, so there are no brackets to fit and no holes to drill.
What This 48V 50Ah Lithium Battery Replaces
One LR51V50AH takes over for a 48V lead-acid bank of six 8V or four 12V batteries. The difference shows up the first week. You stop buying distilled water, the white crust stops growing on the terminals, and the cart drops most of the weight it used to carry in lead. The lead-acid charger comes out of the rotation too. It was built for a different chemistry, and the kit supplies a matched lithium smart charger instead.
Carts vary more than people expect, even inside one brand. Call us with your cart's year, make and model and we'll check it before you buy. Plan on two to four hours for the install.
Is 50Ah Enough for Your Cart?
For a stock cart on flat or rolling ground, usually yes. The honest limit is current. The battery management system is rated 120A continuous and 300A peak, which suits a factory motor and controller. A lifted cart on oversized tires, or one that hauls a full load up steep grades, asks for more than that, and a larger 48V lithium golf cart battery is the better buy. If you outgrow the range later, Lithium Rhino says two of these batteries can run in parallel; talk to us before you add a second one.
Out in Newbury and Burton, a lot of these carts are lake-lot runabouts that make short trips all summer. That's exactly the use this size fits.
This is a cart battery, not a boat battery. The IP65 case handles splashes and rain but isn't made for marine duty.

Warranty: 5 Years on the Battery
Lithium Rhino lists a five-year warranty on this model's battery (cells, BMS and built-in electronics), and the claim runs through our counter. Kit components such as the charger, gauge and cables carry two years of full replacement, then replacement at half of current list price for the life of the battery.
Register the battery with Lithium Rhino within 120 days of purchase. An unregistered battery is covered for one year only; we'll do the registration with you at the counter. Physical damage, water intrusion, improper installation and charging with a charger Lithium Rhino hasn't approved are not covered, so stay with the charger that came in the kit.
