Put a lift kit and oversized tires on a cart, load it with people or gear, and aim it up a long hill, and the battery has to push far more current than it ever did on a flat cart path. The Lithium Rhino LR51V170AH is a 48V 170Ah lithium golf cart battery made for that cart. It pairs 170 amp-hours of LiFePO4 with a battery management system rated for 300 amps continuous and 700 amps peak.
Here's why the continuous rating matters. It's the current the pack can deliver steadily, minute after minute, and when a heavy cart asks for more than a smaller BMS allows, the battery shuts itself off to protect the cells, often partway up a climb. A 300A rating gives a lifted or hard-working cart room to pull without tripping that cutoff.
Lithium Rhino rates this kit for 74 miles on a charge. Treat that as a best case; lift height, tire size, passengers and terrain all take their cut. The pack also warms its own cells before it charges in freezing weather, which counts for a hunting buggy that spends November in an unheated pole barn somewhere in Geauga County.
What This 48V 170Ah Lithium Battery Replaces
One battery takes the place of your cart's entire 48V lead-acid bank, whether that's six 8-volt batteries or four 12-volt batteries. The weight of that bank comes off the cart, and so does the watering routine and the corroded cable ends. Leave the old lead-acid charger in the garage. Its charging profile is wrong for lithium, so this kit includes a 25A lithium charger that plugs into a standard 110V outlet through the charge port adapter.
Check the size before anything else. At 16.9 x 15.4 x 12.6 inches, this is a big, tall box, and Lithium Rhino says it fits most carts. Most isn't the same as yours. Call us with your cart's year, make and model and we'll check it before you buy. A typical install runs 2 to 4 hours.

Warranty: 8 Years on the Battery
Lithium Rhino backs the battery (cells, BMS and built-in electronics) for eight years from the date you buy it, and the claim runs through our counter:
- Years 1–6: repair or replacement at no cost to you, shipping included.
- Years 7–8: repair or replacement for a flat $500 deductible; Lithium Rhino covers the rest.
- Kit components (the charger, 12V reducer, gauge, cables and switches): two years of full replacement, then replacement at half of current list price for the life of the battery.
Register the battery with Lithium Rhino within 120 days of purchase. An unregistered battery is covered for one year only; we'll do the registration with you at the counter. Physical damage, water intrusion, improper installation and charging with a charger Lithium Rhino hasn't approved are not covered, so stay with the charger that came in the kit.
