Some carts get driven to the clubhouse and back. Others leave the garage Friday night and don't come home until Sunday, hauling kids, coolers and firewood around a campground the whole time. The Lithium Rhino LR51V120AH is a 48 volt lithium golf cart battery for the second kind of cart. Lithium Rhino rates it for 40 to 50 miles per charge, roughly ten miles past its 105Ah packs, and it ships as a full conversion kit.
Range on a golf cart comes down to amp-hours you can actually use. A lead-acid bank has to stay well above empty or it wears out early, and its voltage sags as it drains, so the cart feels slower by mid-afternoon. This 120Ah LiFePO4 pack delivers steady voltage almost all the way down, which means the last few miles feel like the first few. You can see exactly where you stand in the Rhino app or on the included dash gauge, so you know before you head out to the far loop if there's enough left to get back.
What This 48V 120Ah Lithium Battery Replaces
One 120-pound battery takes the place of your cart's six 8V or four 12V lead-acid batteries. The watering, the corroded terminals and the long overnight charge go away with them. So does the lead-acid charger: it charges on the wrong profile for lithium, and the kit's 25A matched charger replaces it.
Fit: Check Your Cart First
This is a long battery, 22.1 inches end to end, so the tray matters.
- Fits most: Yamaha, ICON and EZ-GO TXT carts
- Does not fit: Club Car DS
If you drive a Club Car DS, the LR51V120AH is the wrong battery, and we'd rather tell you now. Look at the Lithium Rhino LR51V105AH-CUBE instead, which was built to clear that tray. For any other cart, call us with your cart's year, make and model and we'll check it before you buy. Installs usually take two to four hours.

Weekend carts at the lake lots around Madison and the campgrounds near Burton rack up miles without anyone noticing, and that's where the extra capacity earns its keep. The pack is IP65 splash-proof, fine for rain and wet grass, but it is not built for marine use.
Cart stored in an unheated barn over winter? Like any lithium battery, this one won't accept a charge below freezing. The BMS waits until the cells warm up. If you plan to charge in the cold, the self-heated LR51V120AH-HEATED is the better choice.
