If your 36V trolling motor still runs off three 12V lead-acid batteries wired in series, you already know the routine: three boxes to lift, three sets of terminals to clean, and a motor that feels weaker by lunch. The Lithium Rhino LR38V120AH-M is a 36V lithium marine battery that takes over that entire bank in one sealed, IP67 waterproof case.
At 120 amp-hours and 4,608 watt-hours, this is the long-day option in the Rhino marine line. Lithium Rhino rates it for 288 minutes of reserve at a steady 25-amp draw, which is close to five hours of hard pulling before you even get into the lighter throttle settings most anglers use while working a shoreline. Lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) also holds its voltage until it's nearly empty, so the motor has the same push on the ride back to the launch as it had on the first drift.
What This 36V Lithium Marine Battery Replaces
One battery does the work of the three-battery 36V bank. That changes a few things on the boat:
- Weight: the whole bank becomes one 79.8 lb box.
- Maintenance: no water to top off, no jumper cables between batteries, no acid on the deck.
- Charging: your old lead-acid onboard charger comes out. Lithium needs a lithium charge profile, and the kit's 15A waterproof charger handles it (about eight hours from empty).
One honest limit: this pack is built to run as a single battery. Lithium Rhino does not support wiring two of them in series, so don't plan on stacking it for a 72V setup. It is also a deep-cycle battery. It will not crank an outboard. If you need starting power, look at the Rhino 12V Dual Cranking model or call us.
Measure your battery compartment before you buy: the case is 19.76 by 10.51 by 8.70 inches. Tournament anglers and anyone working Lake Erie structure out of Mentor Harbor from sunrise on get the most from the extra capacity. Shopping for a 36 volt lithium trolling motor battery for shorter trips? The 36V 65Ah version weighs 45.4 lb. Call us with your motor model and your compartment size, and we'll help you pick between them.

Warranty: 8 Years on the Battery
Lithium Rhino backs the battery (cells, BMS and built-in electronics) for eight years from the date you buy it, and the claim runs through our counter:
- Years 1–6: repair or replacement at no cost to you, shipping included.
- Years 7–8: repair or replacement for a flat $500 deductible; Lithium Rhino covers the rest.
- Kit components (the 15A waterproof charger, console gauge and mounting hardware): two years of full replacement, then replacement at half of current list price for the life of the battery.
Register the battery with Lithium Rhino within 120 days of purchase. An unregistered battery is covered for one year only; we'll do the registration with you at the counter. Physical damage, water intrusion, improper installation and charging with a charger Lithium Rhino hasn't approved are not covered, so stay with the charger that came in the kit.
