What is an AED?
An AED (Automated External Defibrillator) is a portable device designed to read the heart rhythm of a person in Sudden Cardiac Arrest and potentially deliver a life saving shock. These devices can save a life but they are only as good as the battery inside.
My battery has a date on it. Is that an expiration date? The date shown on an AED battery can be either a manufactured date, install-by date, or expiration date. Take a look at this diagram to learn the difference.
